Chapter 2: The City

THE CITY

Seven hours later they reached the Heathrow airport in London.

It was still July and summer in Arizona which was burning hot at 42 degrees Celsius. But as Marty got ready to get out of the flight in London, he saw on the TV screen in the flight that London’s summer was 23 degrees only! He was going to need a jacket he thought!

As they got out of the airport, Marty saw his mother talking to some strangers. She turned to him and said, “Marty, this is Aunt Agatha and Uncle Jake.”

“They are my Aunt and Uncle?” questioned Marty.

“Yes, we are”, said Uncle Jake. Marty smiled politely.

“Uncle Jake and Aunt Agatha will take you to the hotel, until your father and I go and visit the Buckingham Palace for some urgent work”, said Lily.

Marty agreed hesitantly. The ride to the hotel was very very very long. Marty took out his iPad and started playing his games. He saw a hotel named ‘The Buckingham Residence’ on the way. Marty asked Uncle Jake why they named hotels by the names of famous places in the city. “They name it because, they want to make it famous, or because it’s their wish”, answered Uncle Jake. “Oh, I didn’t know that!” said Marty. The car ride took another five minutes.

They passed the Buckingham Palace. It had the guards in the red uniform and the black coloured fluffy hats. Marty’s parents got down to attend to their work.

Marty reached the hotel and kept his bags down. He took a bath and went to sleep.
